Marking Fix Released for the ubuntu package as well : as per the
previous comment, it works in 10.04, and I can confirm that for Maverick
and Natty as well with my own ZTE MF636.

I am using Karmic, NM 0.7.996. I plug in ZTE, have set up a mobile
broadband connection, the light on the ZTE turns blue, but the
connection icon does not show in the NM. I have just upgraded from
Jaunty, where the ZTE worked well for me.

i think this is fixed in 0.7.1 ... or in latest 0.7 branch snapshot.
Could you please test the NM from the ~network-manager PPA and let us
know if that fixes your problem?
