Regarding reconnection option, I think it is sufficient to use the
autoconnection flag on each connection. To stop the autoconnection,
disable mobile broadband.

There is an option to auto connect, if you look in the connection list.
If it does not work, probably you can't reconnect manually either and
that is the reason it does not work.

Same as @scatto I need to re-plug USB modem if I loose connection. It
would be nice to have option to reconnect.

I use my mobile Nokia E51 as 3g modem (using USB cable).
When the connection drops (or manually disconnects), and I try to reconnect,
it fails.
The only way to reconnect is unplug and re-plug USB cable.
I have tried with another identical phone and another PC and I have
obtained the same result
wishlist bug that requires some thinking and work. hence, not suitable
as a paper cut imo.
