Hi Juan,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

try:
sudo less /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf
if it shows:
options i915 modeset=X
where X is a number, then you have KMS installed. KMS does not work with PAE,
either use another kernel or set KMS off by removing the file:
sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf
