This should be fixed in Ubuntu 9.10 since it ships gparted 0.4.5 and the
bug has been fixed for gparted 0.4.4. Thanks for reporting.

David, I'm pretty sure (but not 100% ;) ) that it is the same bug. It's
essentially about re-aligning existing partitions, which isn't really
necessary.
But I'll ask Curtis Gedak (the GParted developer) what he thinks.

That one is titled "gparted moves partition to the _left_ even if unneeded"
while in my case it says "Move /dev/sda2 to the _right_ ..."

This is fixed in upstream GParted 0.4.4 and later (karmic has GParted
0.4.5 now, so a backport would fix this).
