I am unable to reproduce the bug [in ubuntu 10.04, gnucash 2.2.9] after
following the steps in the forum post.

Yes, that's true for me also, I used automatic currency exchange rating
all the time and it worked fine. Only this week I recognised that it had
stopped working, so I also assume that this has come with the upgrade
to jaunty.

future 1.17 libfinance release when it will be avaiable here :
