Since this bug was fixed with an update but was never confirmed by
another user or an analysis of what was happening, it should actually
have status Invalid rather then Fix Released. Thanks for reporting this,
and please continue reporting bugs as you find them!

I downloaded the latest Ubuntu updates. I think it solved the issue of
crashes. Now the application which 'misbehaves' just goes gray. The OS
does not freeze. I'm so happy. Thank you.

details about what you are doing and what programs were right before the
crash. Also, are you using the standard Ubuntu kernel or are you using a
modified kernel
