Wouldn't it be possible to show the signal level instead of a link quality in case the latter is not reported properly by the driver? Nestatus-applet extracts statistics from /proc/net/wireless. Some drivers does not show statistics properly, such as rt2500pci. Check your /proc/net/wireless to confirm. IMHO, it is not a gnome-netstatus bug, only an incomplete info derived from some wireless drivers. -- wireless status not visib
