Sorry I think I had it backwards... try this on Ubuntu's OOo
1. Highlight just the cells that say month names, 6 or so.
2. Click and hold in the 3rd month of the selection. The icon should change
3. Shift them up/down

Yo
Yeah I can move regular cells no problem. Are you able to move data
pilot cells using the cntrl + left button method? If so then I guess
it's my machine but if not, I suspect it's OOo. Thanks for sticking with
me on this one

Can you move cells when you are not in a pivot table?
It's much easier to try on a big selection of cells, click and hold
somewhere the middle and then drag.

Looks like it might just be we need to update that help page. These
instructions helped me get this work

The key may be to press Ctrl to make it move the cell, 3.2.1rc from
Oracle seems to let you move it
Agreed on it being dumb, do you happen to know with which version it
still worked for you the way you wanted it to?

This definitely wasn't how it was before...not sure if the developers
changed their minds or something but before I could manually drag rows
around (or columns) to resort them after the datapilot was madethat
was functional and is a feature in other office suites (I believe Star
office and MS O
If you go to help on the dialog on image 3. You get this for Manual:
Sorts values alphabetically.
Yes.. that seems quite annoying as a definition for "manual".
This bug report *may* have a solution for you, please write back if it does:

I can't remember which one but I believe it was in intrepid that I
could. The fact that it says "manual" still in sort options makes me
think that it is supposed to be able to. I just tried again with Lucid
and no go, can't move things at all.

I don't see a datapilot on the the third tab, but I do on the 2nd and
4th. It does look like you can't do a manual sort at least from what
little I know of how datapilot works (most likely less than you). Which
version of OOo supported manual sorting in a datapilot?

It's the 3rd sheet on this file, the data pilot is set but I can't
adjust rows at all, I used to be able to by just dragging rows but
that's not longer the case. Thank you much
