I apologize for not having updated this bug as indeed with Kubuntu 10.04
64 bits Pidgin is working fine.
Maybe is worth mentioning that I am currently using the official Pidgin
PPA (https://launchpad.net/~pidgin-developers/+archive/ppa/) to stay
updated, but on the first few days after the install
