Well, 0.15.7 is a development release, which is why it's only in
Karmic. If you're upgrading, it does have one irritating bug (fixed
in upcoming release) where if you have Tomboy in your panel as an
applet (like everyone in this bug seems to), and you open the Search
window, Tomboy crashes. Fair
You are probably right. I have just been using the Ubuntu updates (Synaptic
Package Manager) and the version it has installed is 0.14.0. I am just about
to download the later version now. I did not realize that the automatic
updates in Ubuntu would be so far behind. Good lesson.

Wilbur, what version of Tomboy are you using? I am fairly certain it is
fixed in 0.15.7, which is in Karmic.

On my system this error comes up at random intervals, like this morning and
the icon does not load into the panel. Other than the loading problem the
app seems to work fine. There does not appear to be anything specific that
triggers the message it just happens at some boot ups. It may be a timing
The upstream bug I mentioned earlier was fixed in Tomboy 0.15.7, and I
think this bug can probably be closed, though it would be nice if bug
reporters could see if the problem persists for them in 0.15.7.
mealstrom, I really doubt that your problem is caused by enabling the
Insert Timestamp add-in
"OAFIID:error with Tomboy on most, but not all, boots"
same problem. Occures when you enable "TimeStamps" and previous notes
hasnt it.

I was just about to open a bug for this problem when I bump into this
report. As said by @EmmaJane, this happens when gnome-sessions is set to
restore the previously running applications.
This is still happening in 15.5 (karmic version, I hope apport-collect has
attached all the necessary info).

I had the same thing happen to me when I switched my GNOME preferences
to include "Automatically remember running applications when logging
out." This option had not been a problem for me in 8.10 and before, but
it is now for Tomboy.
With this option set the icon moves from the left side of the pa
It is not very consistent. I will send another log when it happens again.
There are no other processes that I know of that could be launching Tomboy.
I will try removing it from the panel and see what happens then. Thanks.

I'd recommend either removing Tomboy from your panel (keeping in it in
GNOME session startup programs, and it will run in
Attached: .xsession-errors.
Tomboy 0.14.0 started up with an error again today.
The Tomboy search window opens after the error message is closed.
Ubuntu updates are current but 0.14.2 is not in the updates yet.
After this there is no Tomboy icon in the panel.

This is probably a known bug, fixed in Tomboy 0.14.2, but it's hard to
tell without a stack trace. The only good way to get one right now is
to look in ~/.xsession-errors after the crash, I think. If you can do
that it would be pretty helpful, so we can find out if it's a new bug or
a fixed one.
