other distributions? Is the issue limited to Xubuntu?

Here's some more information: This had nothing to do with OpenOffice.
After deinstalling OO, the problem was still there. So I started
looking for a hardware problem. I use a IOGEAR 2-port KVM cable to
connect two computers to my keyboard, etc. I was using a USB mouse with
a ps/2 adapter to att
