Reviving an old bug, but I have seen this issue. Updated Feisty. 20G (2003) iPod and Gigabyte GA-K8VT800 mobo. I dont know the details of my firewire card, but its a PCI expansion card. An ipod connected via a firewire to my PC. Furthermore; I am not sure if this is related, if i have the ipod

I have 3rd gen Ipod with firewire and final release of dapper updated from breezy. The Ipod only mounts once per boot. It can be found in system>admin>disks and can be mounted to a directory from there for subsequent remount attempts, but still doesn't show in "Places" and can't be unmounted. gt
