Wine should never be able to crash X, no matter how much it misbehaves.
It's a driver problem.

Ditto, same behavior in Diablo 2, Painkiller, and Dungeon Siege 2. To
alt tab back in I have to double click the upper left corner, once i've
alt tabbed back to the wine app.
But there is no seeing other apps on the way, fullscreen hijack as
described above.
