That is OK for someone well acquainted with Linux/UBUNTU, but how do I find out the correct "device" term for an external USB hard drive that is not mounted or even detected? This same problem has been occurring with Windows XP and with Windows Vista. That is why I switched to UBUNTU. Could it be
