I let the machine sit for a couple of minutes or so, until the CPU fan became completely crazy. I can try a little bit longer, but in any case, this is an issue: you can't really expect the system to sit there chewing CPU during boot during apparently nothing :) -- Karmic Alpha 1 hangs after prob
