Yes it appears when I'm logged as new user and tracker works fine then.
Under /etc/xdg/autostart I have appropriate desktop files for tracker.
Can you tell me how can I make entries for tracker to appear in "Startup
Applications" on my old account?

Well, that is why then. Tracker ships a desktop file in
/etc/xdg/autostart and it appears in Startup Applications. If it's not
there, then you must have deleted it, so thats not a bug. Does it appear
if you create a new user?

I can't recreate this here. trackerd should start when you start your
session, regardless of whether indexing is enabled or not. If it's not
running, then it's likely been disabled in System -> Preferences ->
Startup Applications. Can you please check this?
