I installed pythonlaunchpadlib (with Synaptic Package Manager) and then I
tried hibernate again. This time printing worked. The first time I tried
it, the output was pages and pages of random characters.
I have worked in IT for almost 40 years, and I have seen this happen to

The interface is wired USB. I will get back to you with the information you
requested in your previous e-mail. Meanwhile I am using Shutdown instead of
Hibernate.
