In Saucy Salamander, Nedit is now build against motif again, as motif
has moved to a free license. As several people on this bug reported that
the bug is not present when they build themselves against motif, I close

I'm having the same type of problems with nedit in Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64.
Nedit works OK at first, then starts to malfunction - as you say, at
inopportune times!
Copy-paste by highlighting and middle-mouse click, or by menu, starts failing

I have not seen this issue with Ubuntu but I do see it with Redhat with KDE.
Also the problem seems to show up after using something under the macros or

Just a small note for people trying and using my PPA, I moved lesstif
and nedit to their own PPA [1] to not mix the different packages I work
on. I will update lesstif soon (i.e. next week) in the different
versions of ubuntu.

I just found out that this bug *might* be introduced because a patch was
reverted for an other problem. I just marked a bug in lesstif2 for
Debian to track it. I will be looking into this.

I made a mistake in my previous comment (#9), nedit in Ubuntu is in

Those packages are from the multiverse repository, while nedit is in
universe. So this is not a general solution for nedit.
