Okay thanks for getting back to me. I'm going to go ahead and assume
whatever the problem was that it's solved now.
(If anyone else with similar hardware runs across this bug report,
please file a NEW bug rather than reopening this one.)

Hi Bryce, i have moved on, i am no longer using that computer. But, if
you notice, it was reproducible in my March 2009 report, and it was fine
after the ("bustype" "pci") change.

Hmm. Ed, it appears that upstream feels this was a kernel bug that has
long since been solved, although the trail through the upstream reports
is a bit tangled. Would you mind re-testing with Karmic and see if the
issue can still be reproduced?
