If this is still an issue in KDE 4.3 I would recommend filing a bug
report at bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers will see it. I am
closing this report as it is not a Kubuntu-specific issue. Thanks for
the report.

yes it definately still happens, here using fedora's kde 4.2.3..
i don't know about 4.3 though..
