I set the videocard to "vesa" in xorg.conf and everything worked fine.
So, it's really something about the driver.

video player and seems to be a videocard or driver limitation

About the driver, I don't know. I didn't find this info in xorg.conf (no
driver line anymore). Is there any other way to find out?
