I'm having this same problem. Running hardy heron and using a fresh install of
the currently available Avidemux copy obtained from an everyday apt-get
install. Here's the exact steps to recreate the error:
1) Open your video
2) In the video sidebar
Yes just try to load SSA/ASS file into the subtitle filter...
