There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and
your problem may have been fix
Using a tx1000 in 9.04 right now, webcam working just fine. (Tested with
the Multimedia Systems Selector) Those "special" keys on the monitor do
not work however. Most of the keys on the monitor generate codes like
XF86MediaPlayer, but these generate no codes at all, not in scankeys,
xev, or dmes
And the keys which do not function are the 2 keys on the bottom of the
display plus the key entitled "DVD".
