I am marking this bug as fixed released as the original requestor
mentioned he was no longer having problems and was running Edgy. See

USB sticks do not umount with "Safely Remove"
I'm also using Edgy now and haven't seen this kind of behavior in long
time. Maybe the bug was already fixed in released Dapper.

Hello,
I am wondering what the status w/ this bug is? I noticed the last
response was from April of 2006. Are you still having problems w/ this
bug is so please update it. If not I would like to mark it correctly.
