The problem can be recreated by running a Windows application Newsrover 11.2 in Wine. Download a newsgroup en watch Linux dying within 10 minutes. The Cpu goes to 50% (=100%), applications become unresponsive, but the screen applets come up. E.g. I can select restart, but noting happens. Then t
