Mind rechecking against Lucid? A number of changes have gone in which
affect joysticks so the issue may now be resolved.

On ps3 sixaxis not useable on jaunty.
So I've Downgraded all xserver package to intrepid with this aptitude command
:
#aptitude install xserver-xorg-input-joystick/intrepid
then accpted to downgrade this package at prompt :
