Well, I just found out a way for fixing the problem (temporarily)
without closing and restarting firefox. I click on the favicon on the
left of the smart bar, then you will get a small notification window
saying something like: "This web site does not supply identity
information". You click again t

I confirm.
Ubuntu Jaunty fully updated, still see the problem like once/twice per week.
I start typing into the location bar and no autocompletion of sites happens
(although it's a popular site I visit).
It is not related with one adress: once it decides not to work, it will not
work consistentl
I would wait on marking confirmed until someone can confirm it on this
bug report. You may not be seeing the same cause as the people in other
places.

If you mean that the completion sometimes stops working completely, then
yes, I see that too, on 3.5 as well. Need to restart browser to make it
work again.
