Cannot reproduce it either then, this needs to be confirmed (by someone
else than the reporter) and probably be send upstream at
bugzilla.gnome.org by a person having the issue, works fine here,

Thanks for your comment Pedro, but I do put the focus on the search
field. I type some other keyword and when I press the specebar, the
video restart and no blank space is added to the search field.
Note that it works fine when I try to search multiple words BEFORE I
watch any video.

That also works fine here, on step number 6 did you clicked again on the
search entry? or are you typing on the video list collection? Either way
works fine here, but if you press space on the video list it restarts
the video which is expected btw.

Alright, I don't understand anything !
I reproduced this bug on 4 different systems : 3 ubuntu 8.10 and one
9.04, but I can't find anyone (here or on irc) who can reproduce this
bug.
What can be wrong ?
