This would be a feature request for UNetbootin, and should requested
separately from bugs against USB-Creator. This isn't a bug in the
Ubuntu Netbook Remix, so I'm marking that invalid. A feature request
for this functionality has already been made against USB-Creator here:

In unetbootin if you choose Diskimage=floppy it works :)

I couldn't agree more.
I think it would be a good idea too either support Ubuntu Netbook Remix
.img image files in the Ubuntu Usb-Creator or release Ubuntu Netbook
Remix .iso images thereby making them supported.
It would make it a lot easier getting the UNR image on a Usb-stick.

i perfectly agree with you and currently see two ways to achieve this:
a) make usb-creator understand img-images. they seem not too delighted, see bug
361032
b) ship a iso version of netbook remix -- i dont see why this is not done
already anyways...
