I can confirm, that the version from jaunty-proposed fixes the problem.
Using the version from jaunty-release:
r...@miraculix:/# python -c 'import PythonMagick'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 1, in
File "/var/lib/python-support/python2.6/PythonMagic
No i wrote whrong version. This error happens on ubuntu server 9.04.
