I apologize for not keeping this up to date with where things are at. I've been in touch with the driver's maintainer (Matthew Garrett) and a patch has been made. Thanks for your reply. I burned Jaunty to a disc and ran a live session. Modprobed hp-wmi and no changes in behavior. I have been looking into this for a little bit now. Here's a link to a Ubuntu Forum thread where I've been dumping information off. I'm posting as MisteR2. http://ubuntuforums.org
