I am experiencing this problem too. My distro is Edgy. Curiously, in Dapper Live CD this problem does not occure, but in Edgy live CD it does. My problems are in the final installation of Edgy and it's quite annoying I have to say. The same behaviour when I unplug the usb mouse, I have to restart
