You might be right actually. The command "getent hosts
blurr-.javaeye.com" returns nothing. Does this make it a glibc bug?

I don't think it's a firefox bug,because opera,konqueror and curl doesn't
work,other linux system like arch puppy have the same problem.

I see this in 3.0 as well dig works so yes it is a firefox bug. the cause is
the . in the link. Can you please file this bug report upstream at:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org

I do not agree, this is not a firefox bug (the kink works for me using
Intrepid and firefox 3.0.6 or 3.0.7), i don't understand the bug because
