It's very strange. Using Jaunty on my desktop and my laptop (compiz on
both). On my desktop, starting foobilliard and using the middle button
works as expected - foobilliard "gets" the middle-click.

Yes, I was using 8.04 and this happened both when upgrade and fresh
installed. I also noticed that this happens with the Desktop Wall in the
same way.

Can you confirm the behaviour wasn't the same pre-Intrepid?
Note that the default keybindings are ctrl+alt+left mouse which does not
have this problem.
