PS the first beta is very soon, I think the dependent packages need to
be rebuilt asap or we're going to end up with endless problems causing a
revert to 2.5!!

Confirmed, same problem here, all updates 28th Feb 2009, this is
probably because its dependencies haven't been rebuilt with python 2.6,
you can run the command it says without breaking Ubuntu, and just wait
until they are rebuilt, then reinstall ubuntu-desktop in the usual way
(sudo apt-get instal
Confirmed; there are a million other similar bug reports popping up
because of applications that depend on python<2.6 (awn, picard, etc.).
Any way to fix this?

i've got the same bug after the today update of Jaunty, and when i restart the
machine, the Xserver doesn't work in the right way; it goes in low-graphics
mode.
