This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid.

I am experiencing pretty much the same problem here.
I am using a BCM4312 card on a Dell Vostro A90 (Also known as a Dell
Mini 9).
In order to get the wireless card working I have to:
rmmod ssb wl (if it loads)
modrobe wl
It works after this.
