to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please
test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this
confirms the bug is

This is not intermittent; glxinfo reliably segfaults in XCloseDisplay().
The machine is a Lenovo T500 with an ATI Technologies Inc Mobility
Radeon HD 3650 running at 1680x1050. glxgears and glxheads run
properly. Further info eagerly provided on request.
