I get the same error when running OpenOffice. Here is my locale
information:

I had the same issue with pidgin:
% pidgin
error: duplicate REP tables used
Failure loading aff file /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en_ZA.aff
zsh: segmentation fault pidgin
But in my case it was related to the facebook plugin:
% dmesg | tail
[ 309.408258] pidgin[5288]: segfault at 28 ip 7f9c8090
Confirmed still happening in xchat on current x86 Jaunty install.

Similar problem when running pidgin (pidgin does not run at all).
