Ive got the same problem on SuSe 11.4 my system freezes and I cant
login or ftp in without a hard re-boot (switch off) and on all occasions
AVAHI-DAEMON is the last process running:

I am having the same problem (on a real system) on Karmic. Enabling a
Bonjour account causes my system to freeze with the Caps Lock light
blinking. I have not found anything in the logs, and running Pidgin with
the Debug Window open doesn't provide any useful information, since the
screen goes blac
On Ubuntu 9.10 pidgin 1:2.6.2-1ubuntu7 when I enable my Bonjour account
in Pidgin, I get an immediate system freeze, requiring me to switch off
power. This is a physical machine, no virtual.
