For me it compiled out-of-the-box. All you need is the package
libncurses5-dev, which contains the missing curses.h.

I am the author/maintainer of the source code. In looking at the make
errors, do you have libncurses installed? That's the only dependency it
really has besides libm, but that comes standard from what I understand.
Make did compile it successfully on 8.04 with libncurses and libncurses-
dev insta
