Confirming due to duplicates.
I work around this issue since my LCD has an auto-sync button on the
front of it. By pressing it, the LCD will obtain the correct settings.

I still had the problem after a fresh install of the final Dapper release.
I have manually added vga=791 on the kernel options at /boot/grub/menu.lst to
resolve the problem.
