Hi.
I had the exactly the same error on my machine (ubuntu 9.04 with vm
8.0.11-581). But when I add the following line in .emacs, the error is gone!
(setq vm-stunnel-program "/usr/bin/X11/stunnel4")
Interestingly, there seems to be some difference between stunnel3 and
stunnel4. My system has:
