I think I can write this off as a power-issue on my end - removed a dual
tv-tuner, and now it seems a lot more stable - guess I don't have enough
juice in my PSU.

Thanks for the feedback oc. I'm going to open an Intrepid nomination to
reflect this is still an issue there but will mark this Fix Released for
the actively developed Jaunty release based on your feedback (and since
you're the original bug reporter).

Currently running jaunty kernel 2.6.28, I might add - would it matter if I
compiled it myself?
This is getting annoying :P

I think I can conclude this is kernel related.
Two solutions that both work for me:
1) Manually compiling / installing a 2.6.28.x - kernel
2) Upgrading to Ubuntu Jaunty (head)

No nvidia drivers on my system, 32-bit ubuntu server installation

I'm getting the same random reboot trouble. My log files have sections

Said that too fast. Still rebooting randomly - suspect it might be a
power-supply problem, but don't know :/

Didn't build a new kernel, but installed the one from the jaunty-
sources. Works like a charm, almost up 3 days now.

I have the same experience, random reboots, this was in the logs:
syslogd 1.5.0#2ubuntu6: restart
I use the machine as a MythTV-backend, nfs-server and router, so this is
getting kind of annoying.
Will try to build a 2.6.28, and see how it goes.

2.6.28.2 kernel which seems stable (atleast for 3 days). Hibernation

I will consider trying to backport (if neccessary) the jaunty kernel
Hi oc,
Would you be willing to test the most recent pre-release of Jaunty 9.04
(currently Alpha3) - http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . It
has a 2.6.28 based kernel and it would be great to know if this issue
remains with this newer kernel. Please let us know your results.
Thanks.
