Ubuntu uses pm-utils. If you want to perform actions during
sleep/resume, then you need to place a script in /usr/lib/pm-
utils/sleep.d.

Well, if gnome-power-manager is the default usage now, how the heck do I
unload and reload a module automatically during sleep/resume? With the
acpi-support we had a clean way of controlling such modules. How do I do
the same with g-p-m?

gnome-power-manager doesn't block the execution of these scripts at all.
Some scripts (eg, /etc/acpi/sleep.sh) contain a check to see if gnome-
power-manager is running, before executing the action.
On a default system, the acpi-support scripts aren't used during
sleep/shutdown etc. Ubuntu uses pm
