As the upstream author, I still don't quite see how this ever could be
negative, but indeed nethogs was changed to only perform these checks
when specifically asked for it.
I'd say this bug can be closed.

Confirmed this on Hardy as of today 4-1-09 (this is not an april fools).
I think that the devs think this is fixed.
