Yes! There is a new version of Ubuntu coming out every six moths. The next
one is due, I believe, on the 23th of this month; it's called JAUNTY
JACKALOPE. I suppous that this next version will have fixed that problem.

I think I'm way to "challenged" (new to Ubuntu) to follow the
instructions above. Is there a update fix planned for this issue in the
near future? I'm running Firefox 3.0.8, and Ubuntu 8.10.

Hi Makh!
Just yesterday I solved the problem after 3 or 4 days trying several
things. What I did was deactivate the driver (go to
systems->administration->hardware drivers). After the driver is
deactivated, go to the terminal and get into /etc/X11 and make a backup copy
of the xorg.conf file; sa

i have ubunto 8.10 and firefox 3.0.5
