Ricardo, gsim is part of the "tkgate" package. You can find it in
"/usr/bin/gsim".

I try to locate gsim but i cant find it on my installation. There is no
reference to gsim.
I have Ubuntu 10.04LTS and installed via terminal

Try locate the program "gsim" (without quotes) It probably will not return the
desired location which is: "/usr/bin/gsim". Make sure the program is on this
folder ( it will be ).
Then Create the folder 'libexec' as follows:
$ sudo mkdir /usr/share/tkgate-1.8.
The fixes above as in #7 does not work for me. There is
no/usr/share/tkgate-1.8.7/libexec directory on my installation. Ubuntu
9.10 and installed via Ubuntu Software Centre.

I can confirm the following commands restore all functionality:
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/gsim /usr/share/tkgate-1.8.7/libexec/gsim
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/tkgate /usr/share/tkgate-1.8.7/libexec/tkgate

I tried the tkgate in Ubuntu 9.10 today, and the bug was still there.
I've installed the version in your PPA, David Erosa, and it seems like
it works.
