I have the same problem. I think I installed Adobe Air too but cannot
confirm fully that Adobe Air is the culprit. Any resolutions to this
yet?

Checked on a fresh install -- pretty much the only thing different I had
done was install Adobe AIR, Add/Remove now empty.

Thanks for the answer, but for the future, please upload files like the
source.list as an attachment to this bug, this makes things much easier.
I should have said this more clearly.
I have no real idea what could cause this, did you already try to remove
(inclusive configuration files) gnome-app-

All users have admin rights (ability to use sudo, etc.) -- basically all
machines are one-user systems in the default manner that a stock Ubuntu
install sets up.
"Sudo apt-get update" does not help, unfortunately. :(

get update" does not help? And did you have any special configurations?

Thank you for readjusted this bug report. I tried to look for the bug
reporting that was built into gnome-app-install, but there wasn't a menu
item with it -- gnome-app-install doesn't really have any menus, now
that I look at it. :P
