I can promise to take the bug upstream, but can't give promises that
upstream will give it attention; they seem to give less priority on 8xx
issues.
But note that it is also possible to create a USB LiveCD on a USB key.
I don't have the directions at hand but they should be googleable.

CD.
I had to do the following procedure :-
a. Booted and tried booting into the Intrepid Live CD
b. Failed, then rebooted

Hi guys,
Downloaded the .iso . Checked the md5sum and they check out well.
This is the sha1sum generated of the ubuntu-desktop-i386.iso
$ sha1sum jaunty-desktop-i386.iso

If I understand correctly, the new xserver has the DRI2 that anholt said
was required to solve the BO front buffer, so testing alpha 2 would
probably be worthwhile in your case.
