that it works, and
gst-launch -m playbin uri="mmsh\://broadcast01.station.ru/rusradio"
does not.

you are the one who mentionned that the url works correctly on opensuse
11, since ubuntu use the same software and doesn't do changes either the
issue is specific to the current version or fixed in a new version or
opensuse is doing changes to get that working, would be interesting to
know why it's

about ubuntu intrepid and hardy.
